Dr. Luis Rosado

 

Dr. Luis A. Rosado is a Professor of Bilingual Education and the Director of the Center for Bilingual and ESL Education in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Texas at Arlington. He holds degrees from the University of Puerto Rico, Boston State College, and Texas A & I University, now Texas A&M–Kingsville.  Prior to coming to UT-Arlington, Dr. Rosado held academic appointments at Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, Texas Southern University, and Texas Woman’s University.  

Dr. Rosado has over 30 years of teaching experience at the elementary, high school, and college levels. He has taught in Puerto Rico, Massachusetts, and Texas.  In Puerto Rico he taught high school history, and served as a program coordinator and instructor in a bilingual teacher preparation program.  In Massachusetts, he worked as a bilingual social studies high school teacher, and in Texas he taught third grade bilingual.

Dr. Rosado has authored or co-authored several articles and books in the areas of pedagogy and professional responsibilities, parental involvement, cross-cultural communication, preparation for teacher certification exams, and Spanish for bilingual teachers. Among his best known publications are a series of books to prepare pre-service teachers to take teacher certification examinations—the TExES Bilingual Generalist EC-6 (192), the PRAXIS II: English to Speakers of Other Languages, and Desarrollo del Español para Maestros en Programas de Educación Bilingüe.

Lidia Morris

LIDIA E. MORRIS M.E.d

Lidia Morris is the Coordinator/Clinical Instructor of the Center for Bilingual Education  Program at the University of Texas in Arlington.  She has worked in the educational field for more than twenty five year. 

She has presented at national and regional conferences in both English and Spanish on issues concerning bilingual education.  She has also been involved for the last fifteen years in new and experienced teacher training, coaching, program implementation, and in-servicing at the local and state level. 

Lidia has authored or co-authored articles and books in the areas of Bil/ESL education, Spanish for bilingual teachers.
